Isabelle Rorke and Dumi Gumbi co-founded Anamazing Workshop Pty Ltd in 2004 – the only 100% black-owned African animation production company in South Africa. Based in Johannesburg, Anamazing exists to tell African stories with African themes from an African point of view. As the second largest animation studio in South Africa, Anamazing has proven that with the right skills and training, world-class animation can truly come from all corners of the world. A visiting DreamWorks technical engineer recently called the “most interesting” Afro-centric work. Still, they need help transforming this important operation into a sustainable, successful business and making headway into what is predicted to be a US$75 billion dollar industry by 2009. Endeavor can provide the guidance Isabelle and Dumi need to build an effective management structure and to diversify the company’s client base so that they can actually establish the pipeline of annual releases they currently envision. Moreover, partnering with Anamazing allows Endeavor to be a part of a successful skills training initiative in South Africa.
