For South Africa’s township children, videogames are a luxury they simply cannot afford. Kasty Gaming Zone (Kasty), founded by entrepreneurs Musa Maphongwane (33) and Amos Mtsolongo (39) aims to fix this. Kasty is a container-based digital gaming franchise outlet that provides safe, educational entertainment through the latest gaming technology (PlayStation and Xbox) to township children for as little as R1. It is aimed at children who are aware of the latest digital gaming technology, and want to use it, but whose parents cannot afford it. Additionally, Kasty provides a number of other services as well including internet access, game rentals, competitions, CD scratch removal and computer/console repairs.
