Stephan operates Milkworx, an ice cream production company currently supplying a network of more than 5000 self-employed individuals. Stephan generates employment opportunities for thousands of South Africa’s previously disadvantaged individuals (PDIs), and is working on a plan to create a broad-based BEE ownership structure by selling shares to his workers and agents. Stephan also strives to make his products more financially accessible for the African market, and has worked with the South African government to eliminate tariffs on buttermilk powder and heavily subsidized excess milk supplies from the European market.
