Background on Endeavor and VentureCorps
What is Endeavor?
Endeavor is a non-profit organization that identifies and supports innovative, high-growth entrepreneurs in emerging markets around the world. We help visionary entrepreneurs, with daring ideas, who are transforming their communities, their industries, and even their countries - creating jobs, propelling economies, and cultivating local leaders and role models. The company has offices in 11 developing countries (with plans to be in 25 by 2015), supporting over 350 high-impact entrepreneurs after an intense annual selection process. Endeavor provides a wide range of services to its entrepreneurs, from management workshops to funding and road-show introductions to peer networking and mentorship.
Who is a VentureCorps Member?
“VentureCorps” is Endeavor South Africa’s network of industry experts, leading executives, academics and entrepreneurs. VentureCorps members are invited to screen, analyze and provide mentoring to our entrepreneurs and are only matched with entrepreneurs with whom they can provide the most value. VentureCorps and Board Members also gain in their association with Endeavor through access to a global network of business leaders and potential clients, and the satisfaction of contributing to the development of South Africa. Endeavor South Africa currently has a network of ~150 professionals, including Adrian Gore (Discovery CEO), Hlumelo Biko (Circle Capital), and David Frankel (Altireh Capital). We also have many professionals in our network who specialise in various fields such as IT, Finance, Venture Capital, Retail, and Advertising. We would love to have someone with your experience join our network.
How much time will it take?
Depending on the challenges our entrepreneurs face, it means as few as 1-2 lunch meetings per year, with open invitations to Endeavor events and opportunities for networking.
How can I join?
If you are interested in joining the network, we ask you to please fill in the attached questionnaire and send it back to us - it won’t take more than 5 minutes! This information will help us facilitate the most meaningful interactions with Endeavor Entrepreneurs and candidates. We will work to set up a meeting with you to provide an overview of the different ways you can get involved.
