Natalie Kilassey honorary speaker at upcoming Gala and award nominee

Linda Rottenberg, CEO of Endeavor globally, was the winner of last year’s Veuve Clicquot Business Women of the Year award and she hopes to be able to pass the award along to Endeavor South Africa’s very own, Natalie Kilassey of Stitchwise who has been nominated to receive the award in 2009.

It is also because of Natalie’s inspiring story of interacting with the thousands of miners that she employs at Stitchwise that Natalie has been asked to be the featured speaker at this Year’s Endeavor Gala on 5 November in New York City. 

is this exact story and passion which Endeavor Global wants to share at the 2009 Endeavor Gala.  Through the telling of Natalie’s profoundly touching story, she will show Endeavor’s stakeholders and potential supporters the importance of supporting entrepreneurship in emerging markets as a means to change lives and inspire other people.  In Linda’s words, “Natalie is a living, shining example of the power of entrepreneurship and the importance of entrepreneurial role models in emerging markets”. In the past, speakers have included Marcos Galperin of MercadoLibre, and Leila Velez of Beleza Natural in Brazil.

Handri Conradie named Santam Landbou and Agri Weskaap Young Farmer of the Year 2009

We are proud to announce that Handri Conradie was named Santam Landbou & Agri WesKaap Young Farmer of the Year 2009 on Tuesday evening 28 August at the annual congress of Agri WesKaap. The 9 provincial winners will now compete for the national AgriSA Young Farmer of the Year award which will be announced in November 2009. "We would also like to use this opportunity to thank Endeavor for their support and the contribution they are making to the ongoing success of our business".

Endeavor South Africa Role Changes - June 2009

The Search and Selection process is a key asset in becoming the premier brand in entrepreneurship in South Africa. Through this process, we wish to build strategic partnerships and interact with a large number of entrepreneurs. Given the fact that Joanne Brink has already started to build a number of such partnerships and has shown a natural ability to act as a public face for Endeavor, we feel that Jo is the ideal person to lead this directive. On the Entrepreneurs Support side, we are in the process of redesigning our strategic assessment offering and evaluating ways in which we can manage our VentureCorps network more effectively. Given Walter Penfold’s background in IT, consulting and building his own company, we feel that his skills will be best utilised in running this initiative.

Endeavor South Africa has an intern for 2 months - July 2009

Rezaan Daniels has joined Endeavor South Africa for 2 months as an intern assisting Sean Walker on the Entrepreneur Services portfolio. Rezaan grew up in South Africa, attended high school in Paris and University at Hamilton College in Upstate New York. He has previously worked for Enterprise Uganda a UNDP initiative to encourage the development of SMe’s. The different perspectives he has gained from living abroad has sparked his interest in entrepreneurship and the global, social, and economic impact that entrepreneurs have on society.
