If your employees are like most people, they will fully understand the implications of losing data, but will still neglect the job of constantly backing up. Cibecs makes sure that they’re always backed up.
It provides centrally managed, automated and secure data protection and recovery services for desktops and notebooks across an entire enterprise. With Cibecs managing an organisation’s data, anything that is lost is easily and quickly recovered. And you won’t need additional infrastructure.
Richard Dewing started Cibecs in October 2004. The first version of the product was designed, coded and launched a year later.
In 2008, Hasso Plattner Ventures Africa, personal investment vehicle of Hasso Plattner, co-founder of SAP, acquired a stake in Cibecs.
Now the company dominates the business computer back-up industry in South Africa. It has signed on clients such as Gijima, Ingram Micro, JD Group, Unisys, Dimension Data, Fedics, University of Witwatersrand and the South African National Prosecuting Authority.
Having also entered the European and the Middle East, Richard is eyeing the lucrative US market.
